Craigie Lea was the name of Martha's camp on Champlain. This will be my effort to keep all my friends and family updated about our family.

Round bale
Well I ended up getting about 500 bales of hay total between what I got from my friend Diane and Zeke. Ansel and Kacee are rotating pastures every 10 days or so but because the horseflies and deerflies have been so bad they don't want to leave the barn. I end up feeding almost 2 bales per day.....so in order to not use up my supply of square bales I decided to try a round bale. Of course my ex-farmer husband felt it wasn't a good idea. "They'll waste it all" "Also I don't have a feeder (yet) to eliminate them from standing on it, pooping on it etc. I emailed my friend Shawn (Ansel's former owner) and got the name of this really nice farmer in Hampton New York. We called and Molly and I drove over this morning. He came right out and easily loaded the bale on my truck. I was a little worried about having it fall off on the way home but he assured me it would be fine. We arrived safely and John came out instructing us where to put it in the pasture. Molly and I were able to roll it off and it didn't continue down the hill! The horses haven't left it since!
