It's been a busy couple of weeks...sorry for my lack of posts. 2 of the shift managers got hurt at work...one fell down the stairs and broke his wrist and heel, the other twisted her ankle, then lost her balance on her crutches, fell breaking 4 ribs and getting a pneumothorax...Needless to say overtime is widely available! I worked 109 hours in the last pay period! Monday I was able to go to Burlington for a pediatric emergency nursing conference held at the Sheraton...very good conference. It was put on by a pediatric nurse practitioner from Illinois that works in a pedi Level 1 trauma center. Besides being a great conference the hospital paid for everything! Not bad! Even got paid for my time....sort of feel a little guilty as it was actually fun.
Today Molly got a snow day...We are getting the storm that left so much ice and nasty conditions in the south...Cookie it sounds like Lexington really got hit hard. They talked about 12-18 inches but we only have about 8 so far. It's still snowing hard though.
I took a nice walk with Carol the other day...we hope to go to New York this May when the ED does another trip. Molly and I went to a parent's night at the high school for college info. Guess we need to start visiting schools. She wants to look at schools in Boston, Maine, New york and perhaps University of Kentucky. My friend Cathy at work wants her to apply to Georgetown...we'll see! Lot's of excitement in the future. She's eager to get out of Vermont!
I'm going to post pictures of a couple of deer that were in the yard today..I was watching tv and saw one of them outside the front window. I think they're hungry...having a hard winter..browsing on the evergreens.
