Well the horse was definately not for me. And the $150 was a per month charge so she could have spending money in grad school! Right, I'll feed the nag, pay for all the shoes, vet etc and you'll get money to play with! I think not. He wasn't a 1 temperament either, maybe a 5 or 6, very annoying teeth grinding habit, wouldn't hold still on the crossties and very uncomfortable gaits. Made me realize I don't really need another one!

Here's a few pictures from the other day....
Well it's raining again! We managed to get a walk in with the dog and turn Kacee out for about an hour and then it started. Weather.com has a huge green mass with some orange (thunder storms) over the Benson area and more to come. I'm so sick of it. They say maybe some downpours with 2-3 inches of rain today! Everything is waterlogged. Molly planted a little garden. Her lettuce is up and cucumbers are beginning to sprout.

I happened to look on equine.com the other day and saw that a girl in Poultney was leasing her horse for $150.00. I inquired and it turns out she knows us and used to ride at Herb's when Molly first rode Dinah and when I was there with Pat. She will be going away to grad school for 2 years and wants to find a good reliable home to care for her horse and so he won't just sit around! He's 7 years old, named "Easy" has been trained for competitive reining, does sliding stops, spins etc. Has done dressage, is great on the trail and is rated as a 1 for temperament (the most layed back). He sounds too good to be true and I know I said I wouldn't get another horse....!! We plan on going to look at him today after 4. Not sure about all the legalities of leasing an animal. I believe you can buy mortality insurance...because with my luck something bad will happen to him. I'll let you know how it all turns out. Oh and did I mention that John is supportive! ???Not sure why though.
I have to work 7a-7p tomorrow and then 10-10 on the 4th. Hopefully everyone will stay home! Only 4 more shifts until vacation at Sunset Lake! We are all looking forward to it.
