Bad Dog...yuck!
My friend Pam and I have been spending time doing clinical hours at the child abuse clinic at FAHC.  We have taken the pedi sane course but now have to get practical time in with actual cases.  The physician that has been teaching us is awesome!  We've learned so much!  Hopefully will go back again in August for another day.

strawberry picking and Black Mountain Hike

We made our usual trek up to Douglas's orchard to pick strawberries in June.  They were delicious, also came home with a couple of quarts of sweet cherries....the following weekend we hiked up Black Mountain in New York.  Here are some pictures....
Ansel is such a good boy!!!

Tuck likes riding on the tractor!

Grumpy...

Still has an appetite....

Very clean, fresh round bale, no dust or mustyness.  I went to Whitehall and got it all by myself!  Was a little worried it would roll through my back window but it didn't!

Hay

Well our hay was ready on the hottest day of the year...400 bales...and to make a long story short the last load went bad!  Apparently baled a bit green, Molly's mare who has respiratory issues anyway was in pretty severe distress.  We ended up giving her steroids, (orally as you can't give her a shot).  She was better for a while, but continues to breath hard, rates in the 40's.  So....sadly we have decided to have her put down.  We know she isn't herself, not comfortable, grumpy all the time.  She actually dumped Molly last week, who was only riding her lightly in the meadow.  It's hard...but we don't want her to suffer or be uncomfortable.  I'd hate to sell her to Pond Hill and have her die out in a meadow this winter eating a crappy round bale.

Molly did ride my Ansel the other day...she makes him look soooo good!  We'll find another horse that needs a good home and will be fun to ride.  I really miss just going for a nice enjoyable trail ride.

today was hot and sticky so we decided to take a drive in the air conditioned truck...ended up going to Texas Falls in Hancock Vermont.  Tucker had a great time in the water.  We ended up stopping at A&W for a late lunch, early dinner.  Very tasty!  The waitresses used to rollerskate to your car, now they still come out to your car and bring your order to the car.  I think it's the last one open in the state.  Fun!
