Trimming the tree 2010

John was able to actually work some over-time this weekend, both Saturday and Sunday!  Molly and I decided to go out to breakfast at the Castleton Diner then get a tree.  We ended up going to Brown's stand on Rt. 30.  They had a great selection and we didn't have to cut it down. (Which is what we usually do when John is with us).  We loaded it in the truck and came home, moved furniture around and got out the ornaments and lights from storage.  John came home around 3:30 and decided we needed to bring in pellets.  So....he fired up the Kubota and we brought in 50 bags.  (these are placed in the storage closet behind the pellet stove.  After we finished we were pretty wiped so decided to eat dinner.  I had slow cooked a venison roast all day with mushrooms, onions, red wine and tomatoes.  It was delicious!  Also had baked sweet potatoes with it.

Last year we bought a new tree stand, much easier to use, less grumbling from John!

The dynamic duo!

The senior observer.

Oh, the lights...always fun.

A Cosmo or two will make things better!

Cute Setter dog.

The finished tree!

Here are some pictures from trimming the tree.....

Molly riding Dolores at Colby Sawyer

This is Dolores a draft cross that Molly rides sometimes for her lesson.  Her favorite is still Monty the big gray thoroughbred.  I'll try to add some jumping pictures too.

Winter walk

Had a little more fluffy snow the other day.  Molly and I decided to take a walk out back.  Not able to bring Austin anymore :(
