More pictures of my visit to NH

Here's some breakfast pictures!  Molly comes home tomorrow, yeah!  Making homemade beef soup with crusty bread and pumpkin cake for dessert!  Saturday will be a fish dish that is out of this world...tilapia, baked with white wine, lemon and butter, layered over tomatoes and topped with freshly grated parmesan cheese!  Anybody want to join us?

Yesterday spent the morning in Rutland, grocery shopping then home to unpack everything then back to Rutland to the hospital Auxilary dinner.  Pam and I submitted a request for funding for the SANE program to buy scrubs and they gave us $500!  We also got to eat a delicious meal at the country club!  Not bad!  Pam is off to the big apple today on the train....I'd really like to do that again!

SANE prep course

So the SANE A prep course was a hit!  We had 40 people and got great reviews and best of all Pam and I took our national certification exam the week after the course and WE PASSED !!!!

Lunch out with Molly a few weeks ago

A few Saturday's ago I went over to New London and visited with Molly.  We drove around and checked out the shops in Lebanon, had a great day!  This restaurant was in New London.  We had breakfast early in the day and were still pretty full so just asked for an appetizer each....as you can see there was more than enough to eat!  We ended up getting a doggie bag to go.

Camp in West Haven

John took some nice pictures of the camp in West Haven.  They are really getting psyched about deer season.  2 nice buck's on our land (as seen by Dan's camera)

pumpkin carving

Molly came home on Friday....was able to finish her Bio lab early and arrived home before me.  I had the SANE conference at the hospital all day on Friday.  It went really well, we had 40 people come from all over the Northeast.  The speaker was great.  Now just have to pass my SANE certification exam next Thursday....we'll see!!   Molly's back in NH tonight. Had a safe but rainy ride.  We sent her home with some left over lasagna for dinner.  She has a busy week and then a show at UNH on Sunday.

Kacee is lame...sore back hind leg, ?abscess or tendon, not sure.  Ken the farrier is coming on Wednesday to take off her shoes and check for an abscess.  I'm soaking it twice a day in Epsom salts and hot water.  Today it's more swollen, but she seems to be bearing weight better.  It's always something!!

We carved pumpkins and roasted the seeds....delicious!  Had a great homecooked meal for Molly on Saturday, fresh Turkey breast, rice and corn, brownies for dessert.    Molly got a 91% on her Psych exam!!!  Very psyched!

Molly's lesson group from Colby Sawyer

Molly is on the black and white paint "Jackson" the 5th from the left.

Dartmouth show

Can't believe Molly is already doing mid-terms!  She had a history exam yesterday and a psych exam today.  Still very busy...was able to ride at the Dartmouth show on last Saturday.  Did well, was just being evaluated for what level she should be in and was placed in W-T-C.  Lots of huge horses at Dartmouth.  Also a couple of little pisser ponies!  She still rides at Colby Sawyer three times per week and has workouts at 6a on Tuesdays and Pilates at 6am on Thursdays.  She had fall break last Monday and Tuesday so was able to come home....spent most of Sunday helping out at the barn...said she put on about 20 blankets, lots of boots etc, tacked and untacked multiple horses.  Their show was Sunday but was just for point riders.  The next show is on Oct. 31 at UNH in Durham.  She's psyched.  The following weekend they go to Endicott which I believe is on the coast in Massachusetts.  They get rooms at a hotel for that show.  Tomorrow she just has bio lab in the afternoon and will be able to come home for the weekend and have some real food.  (That's one of her biggest complaints is that the food at college is pretty awful)  She eats a lot of salad!

Well I'm headed to work today for a call in 3-7p shift.  I can do anything for 4 hours!  Tomorrow is our SANE conference all day...we were able to get a great speaker to come and actually have 38 people from the northeast attending.  It's a prep course for SANE nurses to take the national SANE exam.  I'm signed up to do that next Thursday....kind of dreading it.  I haven't taken tests in a long time!  It's all done on the computer and we should know the results that day.

Austin continues to do well....got some news that his brother had to be put down last week.  Apparently had developed a big tumor in his shoulder blade...so sad.  Austin loves getting fed twice a day and is putting back some weight that he lost.  His next acupuncture is a week from tomorrow so we will be able to check his weight then.

 The barns at Dartmouth

John is getting excited about deer season....has his spot all picked out.  Molly was able to register to vote and will be getting an absentee ballot mailed to her at school.  Also glad we were able to have her snow tires put on the other day...there was 10 inches of snow on Killington last weekend!  Here are a few pictures.
