As you all probably know by now we lost Martha on October 27th to liver cancer.  She was diagnosed on Oct. 2nd.  I arrived at work in the ED and my coworkers pointed me toward her room.  She had had some RUQ abdominal pain and felt she was probably having a gall bladder attack. (after reading her Merck Manual).  Unfortunately the ultrasound showed something unusual in her liver and the CT verified that she had liver cancer.

This post will be dedicated to her and her amazing strength and fortitude.  She was one of the strongest and kindest people I have ever known.  She was an amazing mother, mother-in law and grandmother.  She never complained, never wanted to interfere in her children's lives.  She truly was interested in each and every aspect of all her kids and grandkids lives.  I am so glad we were able to allow her to stay home for the end of her life.  We had so many talks and shared conversations that really were special.  She was very happy to hear her family talking and laughing together while sharing a meal at her home.  I am grateful for being able to care for her at the end of her life along with all her family.  Her family meant everything to her.

Rest in peace "Grammy"

We love you and miss you.  Thanksgiving and Christmas won't be the same.  Who will make the gravy??  (I'll try, you taught me well)  So often I think I'll stop by and visit with you....it's not the same.  Miss you lots!

Show season pictures

So I'm very behind on my posting....Molly has had a great year of showing so far.  The first show weekend was October 8th and 9th in Vermont.  The team stayed in Burlington at the Holiday Inn and had a great time.  The show on Saturday was at Middlebury, Molly got a 5th, the show on Sunday was at UVM and she placed 1st!
The following weekend show was at Dartmouth.  I believe she got a 4th again.  Rode an awesome ride on a huge black horse.  The neat thing is that they just draw names of the horses they will ride...so you never know what you will get.
The next weekend was their home show at Colby Sawyer.  Molly placed 1st again!  Another great ride. Sundays show was at UNH and she placed 4th.  Her horse took the wrong lead, but she knew it and made the correction.

Hard work paid off!!

Sundays show is at Endicott College in Massachusetts so they go down as a team the night before, stay in a hotel and show the next day...should be fun!  Had to invest in some new boots...her zipper broke recently so she ended up riding with them wrapped with lime green vetwrap!  Hopefully they will arrive before the weekend!  Anyway here are some pictures....
